Commandos! Doom2

General Info:

Weapons Wad for EDGE 1.28a or 1.29 that changes all the original 
weapons into new ones and adds one new weapon that replaces
the Soul Sphere. The Soul Sphere now has a new item # so it
can be placed in custom maps using this mod. The Soul Sphere's
new item # is 9000.


Possible Additions for Future Versions:
There might just be a verion 2.0 of this mod that uses 
many of the features that 1.29 has introduced. It will
also include upgraded graphics and the like. Version 2.0
is currently not a priority for me, however.

Be sure to look out for Commandos: Reaction, an enhanced
version of the original mod with more weapons, fixes,
balances, graphics, and sounds! Only for EDGE 1.29. Coming
when it's done. ;)


The Weapons:


Class 1 - Melee:

Fists - similar to the original, but is slightly stronger. 
        No longer automatic, meaning you must tap the 
        attack key.

AMRS - Replaces the chainsaw. Cuts through opponents 
       much faster than the chainsaw, but isn't much 
       stronger. Reports indicate that some in the field have 
       been able to use this baby against Baron's with
       no problems.


Class 2 - SMGs:

Midget SMG - Uses 9MM ammo. 
             An ultra compact SMG, the Midget has a built
             in noise and flash supressor making it the 
             ultimate weapon for undercover missions. 
             Fires faster than the original pistol, so
             watch your ammo.

Dual Midgets - Uses 9MM ammo.
               Fires twice as fast, but uses twice as 
               much ammo. 


Class 3 - Shotguns:

Remington Pump Action - Uses 12g rounds.
                        Functions much like the original 
                        shotgun, but has a more realistic
                        spread. Semiautomatic; Tap the fire
                        key to shoot.

DBPA Shotgun - Uses 12g rounds.
               A combat shotgun unlike any other, the DBPA can 
               fire off two rounds before needing to be
               pumped. Although the stopping power and accuracy 
               are reduced by this setup, the weapon is
               still a formidable addition to any marines 
               arsenal.
                                                       

Class 4 - Heavy Weapons:

Water Cooled MG - Uses HVAP rounds.
                  A prototype for a portable, fast firing 
                  infantry weapon that takes the old water 
                  cooling technology of MGs from the old
                  World Wars and takes it a step further.
                  This keeps the weapon from having to 
                  frequently change barrels due to 
                  overheating. The protype can currently 
                  fire in three round bursts and then must 
                  cool down for a few seconds.

Grenade Launcher - Uses Grenades.
                   A magazine fed grenade launcher made from
                   light weight plastic composities. The user
                   barely feels the recoil from the weapon
                   because of a patent-pending design that is
                   also classified for the time being. The 
                   perfect weapon for demo teams or special 
                   units.


Class 5 - Unconventional Weapons

IGE - A true novetly weapon. Nevertheless, the weapon does 
      fill a role. By taking in air from the surrounding
      area and passing it through an irradiated mesh of
      Uranium, the weapon is able to emit toxic gas that
      has been shown to adversely affect the Demons 
      in much the same way neurotoxins do on us. Most 
      monsters have very little time to react and are often
      paralyzed for a few moments. On the flip side, it 
      takes a long time for a lethal dose of radiation
      to kill some monsters and most can shake off the 
      paralyzing effects after a short time. Extended use of 
      this weapon without a lead or radiation proof jacket is 
      STRICTLY advised against. The weapon effectively has an
      unlimited power source thanks to the Uranium mesh, which
      has an estimated life time of 4 billion years(not a typo).

TUW9000 - Primary Fire uses HVAP rounds.
          Secondary uses 75 Grenades.
          The latest from the boys at R&D, the TUW9000 is a just
          barely portable one-man unit. The dual miniguns allow for
          an unbeatable amount of suppressing fire. Rigorous tests
          have shown that even a Cyberdemon will quickly fall to the
          hail of bullets produced by this thing. However, the weapon
          will fire through most of its ammo in less than minute, even
          with a backup to ehnace your current ammo counts, so humility
          is definitely advised while using this thing.

          The Secondary Fire for this baby is called the "Room Clearer". 
          In a nut shell, 75 grenades are converted into a single 
          miniature warhead which can effectively clear out rooms filled 
          with demonic vermin. Currently, the weapon has shown limited
          usefulness against both Cyberdemons and Spider Masterminds,
          possibly because of their already high tolerance to explosive
          munitions.

          CAUTION: User strongly advised not to use the secondary fire of 
          the weapon when surrounded or in tight spaces. We are not responsible 
          for the effects the weapon will have on the user. The Surgeon's
          General warns that repeated firing will result in permanent
          baldness and sterility.

               grenade shell and bullet graphic on the HVAP pickup 
               also taken from Immoral Conduct. The following sounds were 
               also taken from Immoral Conduct: both Shotgun's firing and 
               cocking sounds, the Grenade Launcher's firing sound, the 
               Grenade's bouncing sound, the TUW's firing, engaged and wind 
               down sounds, the IGE's firing  sounds, and the Water Cooled 
               Machine Gun's firing sound.

Kronos - Some hand graphics taken and modified from the Doom 3 Weapons Mod
         for EDGE 1.28a, Smoke effects also taken from the same Mod. Both of
         the TUW's secondary firing sounds were taken from his Doom 3 weapons 
         mod, as well.

Xaser - The pickup graphics for the Midget SMG, Water Cooled MG, AMRS, 
        IGE, Shotgun, Grenade Launcher and TUW 

iD Software - DBPA pickup graphic is a modified super-shotgun from Doom 2    

Action Forms - DBPA is a screen captured model of the shotgun from 
               Chasm: the Rift

FindSounds.com - The Midget's new firing sound was taken from Findsounds.com
                 from the following website:
