Filenames : DGLD15.WAD & DGLD15-B.WAD
Author : Enigma-13
Email Address : N/A
Misc. Author Info : Creator, ENIGMA'S NIGHTMARE I, II, III
                          replacement episodes for Wolfenstein 3D.
Also E13SND1-2 and DOOM GOLD 1-14.

Description : Sound, and (some) music/graphics replacements
PWAD for commercial DOOM II - Hell On Earth
(WORKS with the new 1.9* series).

Notes : These WADs were specially created for use with
DOOM II. THIS IS THE FINAL EDITION OF THE
                                    DOOM GOLD WAD SERIES!

                          DGLD15.WAD:
This will take advantage of the DOOM2.WAD
structure and change a few sounds, music tracks
and graphics that were in the original DOOM II,
                          for the better.

                          DGLD15-B.WAD:
This will do the same as above and will also turn
on the lights. For those of you who hate the
flickering or dark areas almost as much as you
hate typing IDBEHOLD time after time throughout
the game. NOTE: This may be considered cheating.

Try playing DOOM II without either PWAD included.
Then, try it with the Doom Gold 15 PWAD of your
choice. I think you'll agree the game is much
enhanced with the addition of either of these
                          WADs!

* Play Hints * : You may use this wad with other PWADs........
However to get the most complete DOOM GOLD 15
effect possible, it is suggested that you load
one of these DOOM GOLD WADs AFTER any other PWAD.

               EXAMPLE: doom2 -file this.wad that.wad DGLD15(-B).WAD

NOTE: Some DOOM GOLD sounds are shorter than
the original DOOM II sounds. For this reason,
you may find a few weapons (like the rocket
launcher for instance), will fire and cycle at
a faster rate. Not all original sounds are
replaced by these WADs, therefore, sounds may
vary according to what sounds may be replaced
by other PWADs you're using. Loading DOOM
GOLD last will insure that all DOOM GOLD sounds
will be active no matter what sounds other WADS
                          change.

ALSO, if your game runs choppy try de-fragmenting
the hard drive on which the game resides. The
less the game must search for data the faster
game can run. The CPU you run will make a real
                          difference.

NEXT, enabling the Smart Drive program and giving
it as much memory as you can will speed things
along. I give Smart Drive 3 1/2 megs of RAM, like
this: SMARTDRV 3500 Of course, it doesn't hurt
                          to have gobs of RAM.

Lastly, to get the game to run even smoother you
may wish to use DOOM II's -turbo switch (see D-II
docs). Keep in mind this is considered cheating
in single player mode. In multi-player games, be
sure all players are running at the same -turbo
                          speed.

* Construction *

Base : DGLD14(-B).WADs

Base-2 : The nifty status bar (with some modifications of
my own to do with the player death icon) as well
as a few textures come from a PWAD which is called
                          SUPERDM.WAD by Bob Moeller.

Known Bugs : None found in testing.

SPECIAL NOTE TO id Software!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heard a nasty rumor the QUAKE will only run on a Pentium. If true, this
will be a giant step away from your customers. Many can afford your games
but not if they'll need to buy a more expensive platform to run them. I
figure you'll lose about 2/3 of your customers by not optimizing QUAKE to
run on a 486 platform. Please think about it!
