RAVINE WAD V1 (7/18/96)
By Jeff Gannaway britsky@iquest.net
-----------------------------------
Engine: DOOM ][ 1.666 or later

Level: Replaces Doom ][ map 01

Difficulty: Only serious Doom players should play it the 1st time on
              Ultra-Violence. I'd play it on difficulty 2 or 3 the 1st
time to get a feel for the level (It's a monstrosity). The
monsters change in each difficulty level, so even if you've
mastered Ultra-Violence, Hey Not Too Rough is fun since
the critters are different and some are in different places.

New Graphics: 1 wall texture contained in separate wad file (bloom.wad)

Multi-Player: 4 multi-player starts. However, you may have trouble finding
              enough ammo to go around.

Deathmatch: I included the starts for 4 DM players. It's not meant
to be a DM wad, but I tried to make it playable for those
              who really want to.

Description: There's no new plot line (who the hell really reads those
anyway? You're a bad-ass with a gun and critters are shootin' at you.
Why do you need a story-line? This isn't Mario Bros.) There are 2 things
I hate in ID wads--intense puzzle-solving and monsters teleporting behind
you all the time. This wad is real light in both areas. I like lots of
secret rooms, so there are secrets a'plenty. Also, since I was hoping to
blow my creative WAD (it's a pun, son, don't ya get it?) on this one level,
there's several bosses before it's over.

Notice I said "was hoping to...". Turns out, the more I looked at ID's
wall textures, the more ideas I got. Unfortunately, this level was
already near max. capacities of my WAD editor, so I've decided to use my
ideas in level 2.

If you try it out, let me know you played it and what you think.

Instructions: PKUNZIP the ravine.zip file. Place contents in whatever
directory you keep all your home-made wads (I'll assume you keep them in
c:\doom2\wads).
The command line should be:
C:\DOOM2> doom2 -file c:\doom2\wads\ravine.wad c:\doom2\wads\bloom.wad

Take it lite...
