The Final Doom - complete lmp collection
----------------------------------------
Recorded by Andreas "Anthe" Kren, Peo Sjoblom, Richard J. Sham and Yonatan
Donner.

[Note: Not supported by TeamTNT or id Software. These LMPs should be run]
[using the DOS version 1.9 DOOM2.EXEs that come with Final DOOM. Other ]
[versions are not guaranteed not to go out of sync. ]

[YOU MUST HAVE FINAL DOOM TO USE THESE (sorry about shouting) ]

This is a collection of recorded demos (lmps) for all 64 levels of The Final
Doom. All lmps were recorded on skill 4 (Ultra-Violence), ending with at
least 100% kills and 100% secrets where it's possible.

To playback these demos, go to the suiting directory (TNT or Plutonia) and
type: doom2 -playdemo tnt-?? or doom2 -playdemo plut-??, where ?? is the
level number.

Andreas "Anthe" Kren
--------------------
i think this is a very nice lmp collection for two very
nice wads full of great made maps. the niveau of the lmps
is most often very high what is easily explainable with the
skill of each player. maybe a collection under gm rules
will be next, we'll discuss this ;-)...

Personal information:

Name: Andreas Kren
Nick: Anthe (which is the Viennese (drunk) Version of Andi which is
short for Andreas)

Born: 9.1.1971 (so 25 now)
In: Vienna / Austria where i still live

Profession: SW Engeneer, currently doing a civil service at
a hospital instead of the army.

System used for the recordings:

p133, 16mb ram, endeavour board, diamond s3 968 2mb vram,
lots of hd space, ms mouse with ms mouse driver 10.0 plus
the following keys: s,d,f,z...str. left, speed, str. right,
go back, mouse : left...shoot, right, go forward
parametres for the mouse: default.cfg ... 7, 100
horizontally, 05 vertically (the min. for this driver), no
profiles or similiar things.

ah yes, two genius mouse pads, one is always washed, the
other one used for playing ;-)...

i love to:

read and write poems
make and listen to music
play doom (a bit less now than earlier)
just live w/o thinking about anything
visit Peo Sjoebloem in January in Stockholm
take walks within nature.

Peo Sjoblom
-----------
I really liked being a part of this doom team, this was one of the
greatest experiences of my dooming life;-) Many thanks to Yonatan for
holding together this project in a very good way. It was also a "kick"
being on the same team as D2S (Anthe), my former doom hero, he still is
of course. Rich also shows that Pennsylvanians are a tough bunch! My
favourite lmps of this collection are Anthes Plutonia Map09 and Yonatans
Plutonia map20. Both of them played with style, graze, daring and speed.
Final Doom makes doom/doom2 look like a sunday school gathering.
Beautifully designed maps, many big bad monsters. All the best to the
people that created them! They are great maps!!

Personal information:

I started playing doom for real in January 96 after getting a ppp
account. I found this ftp.cdrom.com server with all these amazing
recordings. So I started playing with mouse and keyboard with the keys
as follows: Back - Lshift, strafeleft - A, straferight - D, run - S,
use - space. Mouse: Rightbutton - forward, leftbutton - fire,
middlebutton - strafe on, but I rarely use strafe on. I have a pentium
150Mhz, 32mb ram, Soundblaster AWE32 with Yamaha speakers and JVC
headphones, I use the headphones when recording and the speakers when
watching if I want to annoy the neighbours;-).. I live in Stockholm
Sweden and work as a traincontroller at the Swedish Railroads, interests
besides doom are flyfishing, literature, philosophy and Cognac!

Since I have completed four of the maps in this collection, I have earned
the right to comment on the other three individuals. What you are about
to see is an outstanding display of skill, determination and pure
excellence. These three guys, (in alpha order) Yonatan Donner, Andreas
"Anthe" Kren and Peo Sjoblom, will not say much if any about their
abilities - they do their "talking" in their individual maps but, believe
me, they are extremely skilled and their lmps are a real joy to watch!

I had the unique opportunity to be a part of this endeavor because they
are also very friendly, patient, generous and helpful - thus explaining
where I come in - similar to the "minor league player" who gets a chance to
play in the World Series - very exciting, much appreciated!

Take the time to watch this collection - I promise, you won't be
disappointed!!!

To my lovely wife (Alice), thank you for your patience and, to my terrific
son (Rich), thanks for introducing me to Doom! - I love you both!

Thank you Peo for sending me that first, gracious, e-mail and for all of
your support! Thank you Yonatan for your trust and encouragement.
Thanks Andi for not dropping out when you heard I was in!!!

To TeamTNT - Great stuff!

To the Casali brothers (truely madmen) - Wonderful work!

Personal information:

Richard (Rich) Sham lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: USA.

He is 58 years young and going on 18!

For the past 26 years, he has worked in the Computer Field (mostly large
IBM mainframes) and is a Senior Programmer for a local college.

Prior to Doom, he never, seriously, played any computer games. He is,
however, a lifetime member of the United States Chess Federation with a
rating over 1900. In January of this year '96, he began playing Doom -
and got hooked big time!

At 18, he married a lovely lady (Alice) and they will celebrate their
40th wedding anniversary in February, 1997. They have one son (Rich) who
is the "most special" person in their lives.

He also feels that, due to his age, Yonatan, Andi and Peo should give him
a handicap of 10 minutes per demo!!! Please remember that when you view
his lmps! His mind says, "shoot now!, strafe left!, backup!, hurry!"
but his body says "Okay, now what was that after shoot?".

Yonatan Donner
--------------
First of all, thanks to Andi, Peo and Rich for helping make this far dream
come true, it was a great pleasure doing this with you, you are all great,
so are your lmps ;-) Thanks!!!

TeamTNT - great job! TeamTNT is much better than Icarus (in my opinion)! Good
	  levels (mostly...), musics, graphics, etc..
Dario and Milo Casali - amazing! Plutonia is the best megawad I have ever
played, the levels are awesome, all of them
beautiful and built very well, challenging and fun
to play, not too large, the new textures are
                        wonderful, thank you both!

Personal information:

I'm 16 (nearly...) - still in school unfortunately, live in Rehovot, Israel.

The first time I saw Doom was several years ago when a friend gave me the
Doom shareware 1.1 - I wasn't impressed (shame, shame...). However a
neighbour (actually ex-neighbour) played it with me and slowly I began to
like this game a lot. Though I didn't touch it for a long time. I only
started playing seriously after I discovered ftp.cdrom.com and all the lmps
that were there, I was very impressed and started seriously playing, that
happened about a year ago, today I am a much better player than I was then
and I still love this game!

Other than Doom I like science fiction, from TV Star Trek, X-Files, all of them
and from books the Foundation series of Asimov and the Hitchhiker's Guide to
the Galaxy books, which isn't really science fiction but whatever... Also
regular science - physics, and Quake ;-)

I have a Pentium 133, 16MB RAM, SB16, 28.8 modem which has to connect to my
server at 9600bps in order to upload this ;-)

My homepage is at: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/4704 (/doom.html)

Descriptions
------------

The descriptions were written by the team member who recorded the map.

TNT-01 - System Control
-----------------------
A very nice beginning level, short and easy. Not many special things, I
tried to hurry.

TNT-02 - Human BBQ
------------------
A great level, very difficult for a level 2 since there isn't much health.
Very fun to play in! I got down to 4% health because of careless and
aggressive playing.

TNT-03 - Power Control
----------------------
Another fun level which can be tough if one is not careful. Some secrets
here are sometimes hard to find.

TNT-04 - Wormhole
-----------------
the first bareer i had to fight with. a very late night
recording left myself playing very concentrated. before the
final scenes i had a rather long search for some shells,
only to miss a pack near the ssg. very surprising were the
special effects which indicate on which of the two similiar
sides of the map you are. facit, nice map indeed.

TNT-05 - Hanger
---------------
Nice level. The beginning is very hard to survive without the partial
invisibility, and I had some luck not getting hit at all by the revenants at
the soulsphere. Other than that there are no challenges here.

TNT-06 - Open Season
--------------------
Quite an easy and boring level - nothing special here.

TNT-07 - Prison
---------------
My first map of the collection, it has a very tough beginning, I would
have liked to have a ssg on that part.. I do not appreciate my cellmates
on this!

TNT-08 - Metal
--------------
I don't like dark rooms made of metal, so I don't really like this one,
though playing here can be quite fun.

TNT-09 - Stronghold
-------------------
This map has 97 sergeants, 68 chaingunners, 86 imps plus numerous
troopers, it also has 10 or 11 secrets. I really would like to see this
one made in nightmare!! This is ledtossing at the highest degree!

TNT-10 - Redemption
-------------------
Excellent level, short and fun.

TNT-11 - Storage Facility
-------------------------
Nice level, not too hard. This lmp includes a nice somersault by a
sergeant that somehow pisses off an archvile;-)

TNT-12 - Crater
---------------
A pretty nice level with a pretty nice idea...

TNT-13 - Nukage Processing
--------------------------
Another pretty nice level, I kill the cyberdemon with the super shotgun, it
is quite fun...

TNT-14 - Steel Works
--------------------
Half of the monsters in the whole level come out after you take the red key.
Again I kill a boss - this time a spiderdemon - with the ssg, ah what a
great weapon...

TNT-15 - Dead Zone
------------------
One of my favourites of TNT. I leave through the secret exit..

TNT-16 - Deepest Reaches
------------------------
A lot of tunnels, which I like, also a 50-70 virtual meter drop!

TNT-17 - Processing Area
------------------------
Nice and easy done under par..

TNT-18 - Mill
-------------
Quite the opposite to map17, a big hard map with one of the biggest
monster counts of the whole TNT..

TNT-19 - Shipping/Respawning
----------------------------
This was a fun level. The map was very large in appearance and the monsters
were well spread out. The respawning conveyor was pretty nifty - like
shooting ducks in a barrel! I liked the opening sequence with the Revenant -
he follows you - watch out!

TNT-20 - Central Processing
---------------------------
A wonderful level though a bit too large. Has some great parts, among them
the end which is stunning both visually and atmospherically. The demo is
long because the level is long and quite hard. Whoever built this one, great
job!

TNT-21 - Administration Center
------------------------------
What can I say!? One of the hardest maps I have played. I do not like
the first part in that huge building, the end is awesome though, with a
cybie duel in the dark!!

TNT-22 - Habitat
----------------
Quite a weird level with three keys, none of them is needed. I didn't like
it too much, it is also quite violent at times. An extremely complex secret
array.

TNT-23 - Lunar Mining Project
-----------------------------
A short and very easy level, unlike my usual gameplay this time I wasted a
lot of ammo and used the supershotgun on almost everyone.

TNT-24 - Quarry
---------------
The easiest map I did record for this collection..

TNT-25 - Baron's Den
--------------------
Another tunnel level with lots of lava... I fired two rockets in my face
on this one;-)

TNT-26 - Ballistyx
------------------
Quite a fun level with some good parts and some bad parts. The archvile in
the end surprised me when he beamed back to the beginning.

TNT-27 - Mount Pain
-------------------
a ver long map, similiar to 21, but much easier IMHO. the
only bitch is the end scene. my plan was well developed and
prepared, so i only had one problem at the first arachn.
scene. i don't like it too much.

TNT-28 - Heck
-------------
A wonderful level with a lot of fun fights and too many rockets to be really
hard.

TNT-29 - River Styx
-------------------
a very nice, very long and very very hard map. consequent
health and ammo (!) problems till the very end. one of my
best recordings for this collection. the end is very
exciting to watch i guess.

TNT-30 - Last Call
------------------
Extremely annoying for a last level though the building style is good. So
long... The Icon part here is very hard and it took me some parts. Why I
didn't get 100% kills? Because it's a level 30, the only thing that matters
here is the Icon, the rest is just background. Like MMDEMOUP, the excellent
lmp collection for Memento Mori, there is no need to get 100% kills in level
30.

TNT-31 - Pharoah
----------------
ah yes, the one with the bugs. background story is: when we
heard about the single player bug with the yellow key we
decided to do a coopy version and chose me, since i have
friends with networked computers near my home. so i started
to analyze and record with my partner richard zajic, the
brother of the well known (?) thomas zajic, also called the
GoDFatheR (or so). when we finally reached the end scene
(within an unclean recording) where the sergeants should
teleport out of their sectors we realized the bug and
started to search for the reasons and whether it can be
avoided. problem is the sergeants in the first right corner
start to see you, when entering the sector where the cybie
will teleport to later. (in the hall with the 6 spiders)
when they see you they start to move and one of them always
teleports in the sectors which should lower later.
frustrated we stopped recording and i did a (nice ;-)
single player version w/o any keys just showing the bug and
leaving via the super secret level exit.

TNT-32 - Carribean
------------------
one of my favourite maps from tnt. i even tried it under gm
rules and on nm. we ll see whether i can do it (and of
course will do it). unlike on some other maps recordings i
was'nt unprepared in the end.

Descriptions
------------

The descriptions were written by the team member who recorded the map.

PLUT-01 - Congo
---------------
Pretty tough for a beginning level, though very fun to play. I tried to
hurry here.

PLUT-02 - Well of Souls
-----------------------
When I played it the first time I had encountered a very severe ammo
problem, but then I found out that there is no need to get the lost souls
out since it doesn't help and they don't count for kills. So I kept them
locked and had no ammo problems and got 100% kills as well.

PLUT-03 - Aztec
---------------
a rather hard map, thanx to dario for the demo lmp which
made things much easier. aehm, yes...

PLUT-04 - Caged
---------------
I did not like this map at first, I do now. I am satisfied with this
recording..

PLUT-05 - Ghost Town
--------------------
Very fun level with some pretty hard fights. The first boss in the game -
spiderdemon.

PLUT-06 - Baron's Lair
----------------------
I really liked the design of this map.	In order to speed things up and
conserve ammo in the opening sequence, I decided to attack the Revenants
rather than stay back and shoot from afar, and also, perhaps, instigate
a fight using the Mancubi. The Cacos and Pain Elementals were also fun
as were the Revenants. The Cyberdeamon's courtyard was so small that I
decided to outwit him rather than be his victim.

PLUT-07 - Caughtyard
--------------------
Quite easy, though it's very hard to kill the archvile without getting hit
(unless you run to the lift or something).

PLUT-08 - Realm
---------------
Perhaps the hardest of the maps I recorded, so little armour and so many
revenants, plus the chaingunner trap... I really appreciated the berserk
on this..

PLUT-09 - Abattoire
-------------------
mmh, a kissable map, very hard and interesting to play.
and not easy, the end is very hard, because you may not
fall down (as i often did). it is enough to get hit by one
of the revenants to fall down.

PLUT-10 - Onslaught
-------------------
Another fairly easy level of Plutonia.. It has a few tense moments at
the start though..

PLUT-11 - Hunted
----------------
The most frightening level I have ever played. 18 archviles in this one! 12
of them beam in the beginning to different parts of the maze, and two more
are already in the maze. It made me completely nervous to hear their vicious
laugh sounds from all around me, and in addition there is no health/armor in
the level and only a supershotgun so you have to be very careful, you can
only be hit once. Before going through the teleporter there was one archvile
left and I didn't know where he is, I searched for him and suddenly I saw
his attack on me, I started running and the door closed... this was a close
call.

100% kills are not possible in this one, since there are four archviles in a
room where you teleport and can't avoid being hit, and when your health is
lower than 10% you finish the level (like Doom e1m8), so you can only manage
to kill on of the four, which I did and therefore got 83% which is the
maximum I believe. I'd love to see someone get more than 83% kills on this
one!

PLUT-12 - Speed
---------------
This was not a very speedy performance by me, mainly due to the hardness
of the map.. The cybie is fair enough but the two constantly teleporting
archviles drove me nuts! It has the hardest start of any map I have
played..

PLUT-13 - The Crypt
-------------------
Another great level, when I played it before recording I killed the two
archviles with rockets, this time with the shotgun, I also left in a very
good state!

PLUT-14 - Genesis
-----------------
Short, beautiful and fun level, not much to say... Had a bit of an ammo
problem before I remembered about 40 shells I earlier forgot about ;-)

PLUT-15 - The Twilight
----------------------
Pretty hard since you get shot from everywhere and you can be seen from
everywhere. There is much health but still the chaingunners make it
difficult, there are four of them which can't be killed since there are
archviles behind them and these archviles can't be harmed until you step
into the final room (with the spiderdemon), then they are crushed and you
can *finally* kill these chaingunners.

There are also tons of secrets here and it was pretty hard finding them all
and remembering where to go and when.

I left from the secret exit of course!

PLUT-16 - The Omen
------------------
Short and *very* violent, the part with the two archviles is very dangerous
since one beams directly behind you and one to the red key (I think it's the
red key) scene where there are many dead monsters and by the time you get to
him he can revive many of them.

PLUT-17 - Compound
------------------
Quite an easy level, I forgot about the two hellknights trap and got caught
in it but still survive since it's an easy level...

PLUT-18 - Neurosphere
---------------------
Awesome level, wonderful building style, also very fun to play. The
beginning can get your health a bit low, but other than that it's quite
easy.

PLUT-19 - NME
-------------
I was given this map as a reward for doing map12, I really like it..

PLUT-20 - The Death Domain
--------------------------
In the beginning you have to run down quickly or your health drops very
fast, other than that it's pretty easy except for the end with the so many
revenants and the archvile, if you are careful it's not a problem though.

PLUT-21 - Slayer
----------------
This also was a fun level. A Doomer's dream - lots of rockets! I liked the
overall design, especially the attack sequence in the first room which also
occured again at mid-point and near the end. Nice level, but don't hesitate!

Note: there are no secrets in this level.

PLUT-22 - Impossible Mission
----------------------------
A very possible mission I would say. The easiest map of the Plutonia
maps that I recorded together with map10..

PLUT-23 - Tombstone
-------------------
This one has 36 revenants, 16 cacos, 7 painelementals and 3 archviles
plus a very hard to remember route... Quite a fitting name..

PLUT-24 - The Final Frontier
----------------------------
beautiful maps !! what more can i say ? not too hard, not
too easy.

PLUT-25 - The Temple of Darkness
--------------------------------
Ouch! This was very hard until you get the blue armour, also some minor
bugs.

PLUT-26 - Bunker
----------------
I am happy to be alive! This was my hardest level. Quite a lot of
opposition. The layout of the map (which I think is great) doesn't always make
for easy kills - lots of awkward angled corners.

My near suicidal run early in the demo, for the rocker launcher and plazma
gun, was done for fun and excitement - I hope you like it!

Note: maximum secrets here is 75% since there is one secret sector which is
inaccessible.

PLUT-27 - Anti-Christ
---------------------
beautiful maps !! what more can i say ? not too hard, not
too easy.

PLUT-28 - The Sewers
--------------------
100% kills were not possible in this recording since some monsters didn't
teleport in.

PLUT-29 - The Odyssey of Noises
-------------------------------
It surely was an odyssey! A very big map with lethal chaingunners..

PLUT-30 - The Gateway of Hell
-----------------------------
Pretty hard finish level since it takes very good timing to get these
rockets in, I guess I got pretty lucky with the rockets here since I fired
only twice and hit the head in both of them, the rest of the lmp is full of
mistakes though.

PLUT-31 - Cyberden
------------------
another good map, although i dont like that much. the end
was a bit of a problem since the revenants came out
completely surprising for me, hard fight though. before i
think i played a bit too long with the cybies waiting that
they hurt themselves with their rockets, btw do they ?

PLUT-32 - Go 2 It
-----------------
surely the hardest map i was 'assigned' ;-). needed more
than two days for this. got a bad start but improved the
longer i played. in the middle i had some concentration
holes but the end is very good.

That's it - enjoy the lmps!
