[1] SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

This addon should play well on a PC of at least a P60 or better.
Anything less might bring unwanted slowdown, but that may most likely
not happen, but in a few spots.
=============================================================================
        {A} Gameplay Improvements

This will run on any port with any version of DooM II. 1.666 was
used in making this series, and is best recommended to use this
         product WITHOUT a source port.
Although steps were taken to avoid problems with ports that will
"push" enemies when bullets hit them, may have some that were over-
looked, but is not too likely, as all precautuions were taken.
If problems arise due to this (monster falls off ledge and blocks
any means of progress), either start from the last savegame, or
simply use the original DOOM2.EXE to play.
=============================================================================
        {B} If Playability REALLY Sucks

If you are using a source port, use a lower rez on slower PC's.
As usual, REoL TOUGH provides massive hordes coming at you all at
once in places, and turn off any special features, expecially any
"kicking" feature (makes you or the enemy move backwards a bit when
        shot or shooting a weapon).

        {B} ABOUT SAVEGAMES

It's always best to save and save often, however, with larger
maps with more monsters present, it may be a good idea to have a
backup slot present as well, in case you save in a spot where it'll
be impossible to win (like saving when you cleared a room, but a
rocket may be right on your back just before it explodes).
=============================================================================
        {C} Distribution of Materials

Materials may be distributed freely among others through any
electronic means, and use or redistribute in any acceptable manner
per id Software Liscense Aggreement, unless granted permission by
id is given otherwise. This product was distributed in 100%
compliance of the aggreement, from the REoL TOUGH Executive
Offices, thus any lawful wrongdoing, if applicable, is of the
responsibility of the last distributor who violated the aggreement.
=============================================================================
        {D} Use of Materials:

Users may feel free to base, modify, or totally gut and rebuild
this map in any way the end user sees fit. The end user must give
proper credit to those who have created the original materials.
Failure to give credit is in violation of U.S. Copyright laws,
which protects original postings of electronic means. Also, you
will look like a total idiot. :)

[3] THE STORY:

Demons from Hell have invited you to the utlimate battle of wits,
where shooting at everything in your path is not always the answer to
everything. How'd you get here? Stupidity.
You went walking in the woods and were not paying attention to where
you were walking. Suddenly, you trip on some logs and fall foward into
a pit. As you plumet towards the ground, you notice a teleporter at the
bottom, and then you realized, you were about to enter another realm of
hellish demise, in a place you wouldn't expect. Not on Earth, not in
Hell, but in some weird land, where fire and lava pretty much dominate
     the landscape.
At first, you look up, and note the brown sky. You note it doesn't
seem all too bad at first, as you're in a simple castle finding small
resistance. Making your way through, things get worse, and your enviorn-
ment not only gets tougher to negotiate, but it seems to change is weird
ways you'd never expect, and you thought your last Cyber fights were
tough, you're not equipped to fight any of them, except for one guarding
the key to freedom, or is it the key to freedom?
All you know is, just try to ignore them, and wade through the resist-
ance that does have real impact on your progress, in trying to find the
    way out of here.
Do you have what it takes? Do you think it's easy? Roughly the first
half, or a little less, seems that way, but as you know, these REoLly
tough missions tend to turn ugly, and ugly very quickly!
Good luck, and don't blink, or you'll be DEAD!

[4] PLAYING THE MAPS:

     * Place the 6FIFFY0.WAD file into a directory which you load PWADS
       (usually, in the C:\DOOM2 one).

     * To start the game, enter
       DOOM2 -FILE 6FIFFY0.WAD

     * To start the game with the PWAD in another directory, like
       C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DOOMCRAP <-- just an example
       DOOM2 -FILE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DOOMCRAP\6FIFFY5.WAD

     * If you're using a source port, follow it's instructions as to loading
       this PWAD.

[5] TIPS FOR SURVIVAL:

    MAP01: Damned Entry

First map made since 1995 where paying attention to visplane overflows
was something to be taken into account. In this map, I think I was a bit
conservative, but there's areas that look fairly nice. Don't expect a
lot of eye candy. Ring Rust is apperent here. :)

     * This map isn't all to difficult. It's designed to help get you warmed
up for what's to come a little later.

     * You have plenty of room to navigate. Have the enemies follow you, so
you can pick them off one by one.

     * You start with a pistol, and if you didn't get the Shotgun (not in a
secret area), don't worry. You'll get one later.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    MAP02: Caverns of Death

Level of detail is a bit higher here, with a lot more in some spots.
There still is a little Ring Rust here, but not as much. There's more
beauty in this map, but still a little on the plain side.
When you haven't worried about limits for years, this hesitation is
something to expect. It's not as bad this time around.

     * If you missed the first Shotgun, you'll find one here.

     * The water at the starting point serves a purpose.

     * You make first contact with Cyberdemons here, but only one, and you
have a means of killing it, just to make things a bit easier.

     * Don't get cocky here. Sure, this map seems to be a very easy mission,
but it will get a little ugly. You'll also see some surprising
transformations here, a sign of what's to come!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    MAP03: Inferno Islands

Ring Rust pretty much gone here, in most cases. Some areas are plain, but
there's enough detail to do the job, and plenty of eye candy, but don't
expect there to be time to look at some of it.

     * Lava, lava everywhere. Buildings and rocky islands await you, but be
very careful. You hit the lava, there's no escape.

     * There's a hidden platform that will throw you off into the Lava. If
this happens, hop aboard quickly before the platform goes up. Just
remember there's no way out of the Lava.

     * Cyberdemons, many of them! You DO NOT HAVE THE WEAPONRY/AMMO TO KILL
THEM! They are there to merely turn a death fest of a map into a death
fest with a major obsticle course. It gets hairy in places, believe
       you me!

     * Just because it looks like you're going to be safe from rockets, does
not mean you actually will be. You'll be shocked if you're too easy-
       going here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    MAP04: Fire Pits

Detail galore. The old-skool design is back, but with some changes you're
surely to never forget when you cross them!

     * Beware of sections of walls that are on fire. You touch them, you get
hurt badly. (An engine limit allows you to touch them in one area, but
       I'm not telling you anything!)

     * You'll encounter a room with 3 platforms going out into an open Lava-
filled courtyard with a tremendous drop. Pick a platform and RUN off.
If you choose the right ones, you'll land on the other side to
continue play. Walk of hit the wrong ones, into the Lava you go. This
time, there's teleports to escape from it.

     * There's PLENTY of ammo and health/armor. The goal here is to be in
good health at the end. You'll need it.

     * You'll have enough ammo/weaponry to kill at least 2 Cyberdemons. The
first fight is VERY difficult! You have NO cover, and you're on a thin
ledge surrounded by Lava! If that isn't enough, you have a Cyberdemon
in front AND IN BACK of you! Save VERY OFTEN HERE, and have a backup
       slot ready, too.

     * If that's not enough, you have 2 Cyberdemon obsticle courses to run.
No details will be given here. You need to figure it out on-the-fly,
with no warning as to what you'll face. :)

[6] KNOWN BOO-BOO'S:

     * My fingers cramped up in MAP03. Be warned, especially if you're just
       the casual FPS gamer.

     * Might not catch all the texture choices that make no sense, if there's
any. There was simply too little time for this project, so it was
rushed, especially with all that's happened to me this year (it is
       mostly good things).

[9] PARTING WORDS:

Thanks for giving DEATH FEST 2000 a try. It's been awhile since I had to
worry about engine limits, and with a lot happening to me in Real-Life
(tm), time was short for the project, so it was rushed some. Hope you'll
still enjoy it, and pass it along to your friends.

Thanks once again, and as always, Have a nice DooMsday!
