* Installation of Hostage Rescue 3 *

Installation requires a little over 5 MB of hard
disk space. Extract all the non-text files from
hostage3.zip into your Doom2 directory. Then exit to DOS
and go to your Doom2 directory, and type INSTALL. The
installation program will take you through the rest of it, including
further prompts on how to restore your system once you finish playing.
Please note that you install this wad at your own risk.
We will not accept any liability for problems that occur installing
and/or playing this wad. So if you are in doubt about any of the
install/play procedures, then DO NOTHING! Better safe than sorry.

To play a co-op game using a serial cable or
an IPX Network, run LAUNCH.BAT after
installing normally. Be aware that this method
temporarily renames your Doom2 exe file. If you don't
make a clean exit (i.e Doom crashes/hangs etc),
you'll have to make a few manual adjustments.
Rename doom2.exe to doomhack.exe and doomorg.exe
to doom2.exe, and you'll return everything to normal.
Normally, however, the bat file will automatically
revert any changes it has made, without out you
having to do a thing.

The install file will create 4 new files in your
Doom2 directory. These files consist of 2 log
files and 2 bat files. The two log files will only
contain useful information if DeuSF or Dehacked stuff
up during installation. The other two files (play.bat
and restore.bat) allow you to easily run and restore
Hostage Rescue 3.

Remember to type RESTORE at the DOS
prompt after you have finished playing Hostage
Rescue 3. Doing this will help maximise your
HD space. If you wish to permanently delete
Hostage Rescue 3 (perish the thought)
you should firstly ensure that you have
made a clean exit from Doom2, and typed
RESTORE. Then, just delete all the 'foreign'
files from your HD.

If you want to use command lines (e.g -devparm
or -warp, for example) then you should edit
play.bat (created during install) and/or launch.bat
(comes in the zip) Just add command line parameters
as per normal.
