The DOOM Honorific Titles
Created by Frank Stajano on 1994 05 01

Jonathan Hoof hereby conquers the title of DOOM 2 Grand Master.
This completes my suite of regular/advanced titles (the first I think).

Expansion level: MAP 18 (Medium)
Free interpretation: MAP 29, D2M Rules, Cyberdemon Copout.

Comments:
MAP05: Straightforward, standard kill-fest.
MAP06: I did better in D2T.
MAP18: My expansion level. Rated it as a medium, Not to difficult.
MAP32: Everyone seems to do this level for a free. I got is as a regular.
Everyone kills the Cyberdemon in some fancy way. Me, my twist is to
punch-kill all the blue guys, while invulnerable (yes, all within the
30 second time). Then it's a regular plasma execution for Cyby (100%
health, no armor, anything else is boring, of course).
FREE: My free LMP. Gave this one a lot of thought, contacted several
DHTers for ideas, tried several ideas for a few weeks, and settled on
this lmp. Here goes the flyer:
Here it is, boys and girls, the LMP you've all been waiting for! Watch
Hoof dance in the booth! Watch Hoof constantly run out of ammo and
resorting to fists! Watch the Imp take on a Mancubus in a 9 minute rage
while Hoof clears the level! Watch a poor Shotgunner dude die 11 times
before collapsing for the last time! Watch Hoof fist Chaingunners for the
Plasma Gun! Watch Hoof take one look at the Cyber Demon and Chickens Out!
Frank writes in his DHT5 rules:
Q: The requirement that used to be _kill every monster at least
once_ is now just _100% kills or more_. Can I kill that soldier
twice and not kill the cyberdemon?
If you stick to the letter of the Official Reference, yes, now
you can, and your exam will be valid. But rest assured that, if
you do, you won't look particularly good to those who watch
           your exam.
I finally came up with my unique twist, my Cyber-Death routine that is
unlike anything done. I leave him be and bug out!
Thanks for the idea comes from Jeffrey Makaiwi. He suggested this level as
a cool Cyber-Death Level, after a few tries, I did this variant on a
  spur-of-the-moment thing and kept it.

Well, this is it. My last Title (unless I can pull of D2L). It's been a
blast, I hope that my recordings have provided many hours of watching
pleasure. Thanks goes to Frank Stajano, for creating the Doom Honorable
Titles, and to the dozens of players who took the time to do an exam.

Thanks goes to Phidias Borleas, for giving me such a workout in
D1GM, and providing such an incentive to do these titles (a *keyboarder*
doing better than me, a trackballer?!?!?!?!?!!? :-). And thanks to all
those email friends I've made along the way.

Special Thanks goes to my good friend Sean Mckannay who spent many hours
dying with me while we honed our Deathmatch skills, which came in so useful
in my DHT exams (he is currently #1 in the Descent Ladder on Compuserve, as
well as a damned good Deathmatcher).

And extra special thanks goes to those who took the time to watch my humble
lmps (including the few who honored me with appreciation mail, that was mondo
cool).

Author info: Theatre major at Lewis and Clark College (when I'm not playing
doom). I hobby in computers, and models. I also like Deathmatch.
