                               RMB : Forward

 Well - after a l---o---n---g wait - I finally received my D2I exam,
yesterday, and due to these "race conditions", of having to get our
advanced title exams with valid Out-of-Base levels, *before* anyone
else claims them, I knew I had to get this done ASAP ! ;-(

I do not have a lot to say about these .LMP's - Basically they were
just done... nothing particularly outstanding... just done to get a
valid set of .LMP's for D2I - My second of six [ ? ] titles...

[ ? ] - As if I could be bothered to complete some of these "basic"
         titles... Well, maybe... [ ? ]

 Level 03 NMare! - Easy :

Yeah pretty easy - the trick to this level is the "hop" from the
chaingunner into the pit with the goodies. If you don't make it,
you die. Otherwise, it's not at all difficult. Interestingly, on
an initial practice attempt, I made the "mistake" of opening the
back room with the former humans in it. The result was that they
had a fight with most of the imps in this room and many of these
got killed - This was such a neat "trick" that I thought I'd use
it in my exam. Anyway, I finish with over 100% Health and Armour
(I think), taking no damage in the final areas :-)

 Level 05 NMare! - Medm :

This one caught me out. I hadn't practiced it at all (apart from
doing it as part of a NightMare! "beginning until death" Run ;-)
so I got rather stuck trying to work out a decent route. ;-( The
basic problem here is that the goodies are at the beginning and
the baddies are (still) at the end. I got shot up pretty bad but
I was in, just about, a fit state to finish it... That final imp
was nearly enough to screw my run - Though I had the patience to
switch weapons and finish it :-)

A rough "Medm" level, but not nearly as bad as LV04-NM. TRY IT !

 Level 25 NMare! - Hard :

Sorry, I don't know this level at all well... And since I've had
so l---o---n---g to practice Out-of-Base levels I have basically
been *forced* (those race conditions, once again) to do TWO Out-
of-Base levels (which I already know) so as to complete this D2I
exam before my chosen Out-of-Base level is GONE, which was a lot
easier than practicing ALL of the hardest base set... That's the
 way it happened. Sorry.

 Out-of-Base (1) - NM13 : Rated as a Medium

My original intended Out-of-Base .LMP - I made this one first of
all. I'd had SSooo... much practice at this level I knew that it
it wasn't going to be ANY sort of a problem for me to complete !
I follow a fairly safe route and ignore any problems. Taking the
teleport was a complete screw-up and I didn't clear the elevator
room properly. The time - and in fact the *whole* .LMP - stinks.

I can complete this level (on NM!) (well) UNDER PAR, but that is
NOT a requirment for D2I, so I didn't try. I did the silly dance
stuff twice - Once where I was invisable - And again at the very
end, just to make sure that this .LMP was valid, for sure.

 Out-of-Base (2) - NM20 : Rated as an Easy!

I (finally) did this one, using a combination of tricks from THE
REAL MASTERS of DooM II - such as Daniel.EXE Lindgren </Me BOWS>,
Sven ("dasa") Huth AND Kai-Uwe Humpert... MANY THANKS to EACH of
of these "Compet-N" players plus also Anthe Kren: D2I, D2GM, D1I
for his many and most friendly messages of encouragment :-)

 Back to the .LMP...

Step one: Dodge the fire-fight ! Step two: Go get a pile of guns
plus 100% health and armour :-) Take the radiation suit & plasma
then run for another +100% health - Run chaingun alley then take
the REGULAR teleport [ This avoids the skull column. That got me
every time I tried it, so I "found" a new variation :-) chaingun
the caco. And then I screw up BIG TIME... This doesn't matter as
the Megasphere is only a teleport away... The next two groups of
monsters can drain your armour real quick, but from 200% they're
not a problem. The end is just TOO easy. I was going to put this
level with all the rest in the medium set BUT... With the amount
of health, armour and ammo. and not a lot getting in your way...
[ Nah, I've changed my mind ] It goes into the easy set ! :-)

GGGG... Let's see how much of a complete b*st*rd I can be to the
next guys that put in for their D2I exams - "What? Level 20 goes
from Out-of-Base straight to Easy! S***, that has got to be some
sort of mistake?"... Nope, I don't think so. Watch this .LMP and
you'll see just how easy it really is !

Oops - I nearly forgot someone that deserves/wanted a mention...

ZlatkO ThE GoDFatheR, aka T. Zajic, who has been pestering me by
continually asking me where this exam has got to - GGGrrr... All
those Thomas's... GooD EnougH FoR YoU !?! And do not "forget" to
 </me BOWS> next time you e-mail me - Pfiati. IoW-SYW is next ;-)

</ME will see ZlatkO go crying off back to mommie, for sure> ;-)

Oh, S*** I haven't even thought about doing a free... Oops ! But
why should anyone care about a free when it is ALL about getting
those all important Out-of-Base levels for a valid title...

I was going to (try to) complete _yet_another_ Out-of-Base level
but that's not really the spirit of this DHT thing... So I won't.

Gotta leave at least something for others to do ;-)

 Anyway...

 [ In D1I-SYW.TXT - I wrote... ]

                           I plan to do a...
 Free interpretation : Single-Player "IPX-NET" Session that
Everyone should be able to -PlayDemo.
Episode One on NightMare! As far as I
                           can get... E1M3 probably ;-)
                           This isn't particularly amazing, but
it does show a quite differnet aspect
of playing DooM - One that I've been
"pushing" for over a year ;-) Anyway,
try it - you might like it...

So I plan to do something similar for D2I - and _this_time_ that
 "FakeNet.BAT" WILL be included ! ( OKay Jeff ? ;-) I ain't going
to worry about how far (?) I get with this and I don't intend to
make anything particularly brilliant - It's just "different" :-)

 [ Edited from D1I-SYW.TXT :-) ]

If you're looking out for other (better) DHT exams to download
then I'd suggest you take a look at all of the ???-JRH and the
ones by ???-AAK. Jonathan has completed *ALL* of the possible
DHT-exams [ bar ONE ] including both of the once-only and Epic
"lightning" [ nine levels on-the-trot all under par ] Titles.
However, Jonathan said a few thing in his .TXT files that are
wrong - and invited people to prove him thusly ;-) 'Anthe' is
the President of the "Club of Hoof/y Wrong Provers" - C.H.W.P.
Just take a look at his .LMP's - They're excellent! And if you
think he wimps-out by subtituting levels, he does this to make
 these exams more difficult.

Oh, and before you get pissed and consider emailing me just to
say that forming this Real (C.H.W.P) Club is not a "nice" thing
to do... Jonathan Hoof is an "official supporter" (his words).

Me - The Sixth (but nowhere near, The Last) D2I...

Thanks and Respect To Steffen Winterfeldt - THE *D1S* - Frank:
You didn't use LARGE ENOUGH LETTERS to decorate this player...

Come on people ! Not even ONE person has called me to play

Come on people ! Give me a call... I am just looking for a

Finally: Thanks go to Frank for creating this whole DHT thing !

Oh, in case it means anything to anyone... I run the rival (?)
"Compet-N" area right next to the DHT-Exams one on the Primary
DooM Archive, ftp.cdrom.com - remember to use a "mirror" site.

              Compet-N .LMP's - Give !!! ;-)
