MAP05: Your basic frag-fest. I remember when I tried this level for
the first time - it seemed SO hard! Of course it helps a lot
when you know what to expect. 7:18

MAP30: After an hour of attempts, I was really pissed because I was
unable to complete this map even once! Problem was I couldn't
tell when my rockets were scoring. Finally I tried an easier
difficulty level and saved the game at the point where one more
rocket will do it. I tried it from that point until I got the
timing down, and then recorded this on my first try. Not a super
performance, but I get the job done. 2:36

MAP28: Technically this fulfills a level requirement but really it is
the harder half of my free interpretation. This is a very
well designed level, but suffers from a glut of invulnerability
spheres (FIVE!), especially considering there are also two
Megaspheres. If you just run for the BFG and then the
invulnerability, I don't think this level is that hard. But if
you avoid the invulnerability, it's much harder, as there is less
health and a shortage of ammo. You can't use one of the Megaspheres
because the only way to get to it is through an invulnerability,
and you have to waste the Vile Twins before you get the other
Megasphere. The two big stashes of ammo in the spider lair are
inaccessible, at least initially. Watch how low my ammo dips
when I go for the Vile Twins - I was lucky to make it!

One of the most frustrating problems, which ended several
attempts, was accidentally strafing into an invulnerability sphere
while cleaning out the spider lair! Look for the bozo move near
the end, where I get stuck between two torches cleaning out
the revenant room (duh!). Made me want to redo it, but the same
thing happens to a revenant right after me. Kinda funny! 16:19

FREE: I wanted to do something new, so I took the two levels with the
most invulnerability spheres (27 and 28) and did them each Master
style without using any invulnerability. Level 27 actually isn't
much harder this way, you just have to be more cautious.

I let out a bunch of monsters at the start, and they usually kill
each other off. But coming back into the starting area (expecting
to take out the spectres with the chainsaw) I get into big
trouble between the arachnotron and imp army (how did they get out?)
and had to improvise to survive. Looking back on it I probably
should have used some rockets on the Mancubi. I had 17 rockets
left for the Hell Knight herd, which made it no contest. 17:38

Author My third title: D2GM, D2SG, D2M. My style is more thoughtful and
Info: devious as opposed to fast and aggressive. In MAP28, watch how
I trap an Arch Vile on a ledge rather than taking him out directly.
