Comments :
              MAP04: Finished in 1:32 - Par 2:00. It's important to be 'a real
man' and *leave* the start room to get the shotgun from
friendly 'Herbert Charles the Shotgunner' himself. Rest
is as it's always been: RUN and (sometimes) SHOOT and
(more often ((maybe) even)) HIT (!)
                                                 ^^^
MAP08: Finished in 0:57 - Par 2:00. Nothin' much to say, because
it was the easiest of my assigned set. Get Cybie & The
Barons started, dash for the plasma gun, back to Cybie &
Co., grab the invulnerability & the yellow key, grab the
red key while still invulnerable, and off we go!
Think this is better than getting the rocket launcher.

              MAP09: Finished in 3:07 - PAR 4:30.
The relatively 'hardest' map of my (IMHO) easy
assigned set. I needed a few tries to find the fastest
route with the least risk of dying, par time itself is
no problem. The only trick is to get the rocket launcher
first w/o activating the chaingunners (ThanXX to ZlatkO)

FREE: While training for the COMPET-N 'Just Fast' category
(Shameless plug: Check out these REALLY F A S T LMPs,
they are definitely worth downloading !) I found myself
being able to play each single level from MAP01 to MAP10
under PAR from scratch, so I wanted to do a Lightning
style run as far as I'd get (but at least 9 levels)

I guess this is a fine place to analyze Jonathan "Hunter"
                     Hoof's statements from his D2L-JRH.TXT:

JRH> I found the only 9 level sequence to be 15-21 with both secrets.
Not me ! I 'found' another one.

JRH> MAP02, MAP08 make you do too much in UV to make PAR feasable.
That's (as you can see) not quite right ! I think that Jonathan originally
meant MAP06 instead of MAP08 (a typo ?), because MAP08 is just a sunny after-
noon walk. Having seen Hunter play, I can't really believe that he's not
able to do these two under PAR (My personal best times from scratch currently
are 1:07 on MAP02 and 2:10 on MAP06 (with much room for improvement) !)

JRH> This leaves 14-21 as the only viable sequence.
No !
JRH> Feel free to prove me wrong in a FREE lmp."
Ok , felt sooooo (!) free and followed this friendly invitation. ;-)

After several (dying silly) tries I finally managed to
record a LMP from MAP01 to MAP09 Lightning Style (UV,
                     each map under par):

                     MAP ANTHE PAR
                     ------------------
                      01 0:27 0:30
                      02 1:18 1:30
                      03 1:06 2:00
                      04 1:39 2:00
                      05 1:12 1:30
                      06 2:25 2:30
                      07 1:45 2:00
                      08 1:14 2:00
                      09 2:33 4:30
                     [10 1:38 1:30] :-( (forgot my route uaeeeeh !)
                     ------------------
              Total: 13:49 18:30
                         [15:17 20:00]

ADD'L: Still feeling soooo free, and already having proved Hunter
wrong once, I decided to show that Steffen is not the only
one who could do MAP06 on NightMare! (see D2I-JRH.TXT) Of
course I don't want to compare my skills to Steffen's (as
long as it's not E1M4 in COMPET-N Just Fast) however MAP06
*is* feasible on NightMare! Well, I guess good ol' Hunter
didn't know good ol' Anthe when he wrote that ...
check out D2I-AAK.ZIP [available soon] for details! :-)

Author info : 24 year old software engineer who started playing DooM
in January '95. Living in Austria, home of the original
Schwarzenegger (Arnie, eh kloa!) - btw, isn't there a
DHT Title named after him? Let's see ... ;-)

Thanx to ZlatkO ThE GoDFatheR for e-mailing, ftp'ing and
watching numerous LMPs for countless hours. BUT ...

Yes, it's true, today I got my (brand)new e-mail address:

<anthe.kren@telecom.at> (Please send me something, I'm
keen on getting my first e-mail from an unknown (former)
                     human (sergeant (?))).

Thanx for inspiration & motivation(!) to the following
people: Steffen Winterfeldt (of course! ;-), Uwe Girlich,
Jonathan "Hunter" Hoof, Lawrence "Hunter" [another one?!
                     Oops!] Kirby, Tom "Paradox" Mustaine,
