Free interpretation : In this LMP, Doom player stands head-to-head with the Cyberdemon,
with no other monsters to distract or injure the cyber, no health
for the human beyond his 100%, and no weapons. The human has the
Bezerk to make his fist more potant, and that's it. The human's goal
is to take no damage from the cyberdemon, kill it, and dont take too
long. This recording takes slightly over 4 minutes (that includes
falling off of the platforms with the Commander Keens several times),
and all of the goals are met.

The best way i saw to do this on a Doom2 regular map was doom2 map32
on skill 1. Skill 1 is used because on all other skill levels,
the wolfenstien guys are there, and that is not the confrontation I
was trying to implement. Since i take no damage from the cyber, the
skill level isnt really an issue.

While building up to the skill to be able to make this LMP, i feel
like i learned alot about what attacks work on the cyber for me, what doesent,
what works sometimes, and how the Cyber's AI works. I tried a number
of different kinds of attacks on the cyber. The different attacks are
guided by the cyber's attack patterns, which are limited to 4 that i
could see. The most common one is 3 rockets, then a few steps. Mixed
into this pattern are the others: 3 rockets and half a step, 3 rockets
then walking for a relatively long period, and the most problem causing
pattern, 4 rockets, which often seems to be followed by 2 rockets, then
a long walk. I worked with various frontal attack patterns which dodge
rockets in a pattern, but was finding it difficult because of the
very occational set of 4 rockets. Most of the frontal attacks were
able to cope with the half step, but it seemed too much like luck to
get away from the last one in the set of 4. I found the circlestrafe
attack that i use in most of this recording to be the least luck-dependant
for me, because i can maintain the circlestrafe and get right back into
it after each strike. The cyber cant pivot fast enough to hit me, so it
is, while not exactly safe, predictable. After i had established my
circlestrafe as my primary attack means, i saw a recording of someone
doing it with a frontal attack pattern. His way seemed more dangerous,
less crazy looking, but he manages to pull it off ok.

Comments : Well... one of the things i have always enjoyed about Doom is how the
monsters fight each other, and have different characters. In real life
i like watching those public television animal shows, so i guess it
coincides. In the Map18 demo i love to just get all of the monsters
all riled up, and then watch them fight. In the Map6 demo i am a
smartass... i dont have enough bullets available to kill the spider,
so i use the other weapons, then kill it with the handgun. Nevermind
that silly crusher, right? i have ammo enough.... The Map26 demo doesent
have anything unusual about it, except that its neat to see the mancubus'
attack pattern from above and behind.
Author info : A halfway decent mouser. When i grow up i want to be a doom god!
