       MEMENTO MORI UPDATE   -----    THE SKILL-4-DEMO-COLLECTION

 Here is a collection of LMPs for the updated version of MEMENTO MORI. Each
 LMP shows how to complete the appropriate map, how to find the secrets and
 how to reach the maximum kill/item/secret percentage (if possible). All the
 demos were recorded in skill level 4 (ultra violence) with DOOM II v1.9. Use
 LMPUTIL by Raymond Chi to convert the demos to other versions.
 Some maps are multiplayer optimized with parts not accessible in single play
 mode (e.g. 07, 11, 29, 31). There it's impossible to reach the triple 100 
 rating.

  To play a demo, be sure to use Doom II v1.9 and the updated version of 
  Memento Mori (Feb. 95). Copy the LMPs into your Doom II directory and  
  start the game like this:                                              
                doom2 -file mm.wad mmmus.wad -playdemo XXXX              
                                                                         
  XXXX is the name of the demo you want to play. Have fun! :)            
 
 Technical information:

 LMPs ending with "M" were recorded by me :) , Michael "migru" Grube, author
 of X-DOVE, XD700, M-SWIRL, using a DX4/100 (16MB), Microsoft serial mouse
 and some gallons of chinese tea.
 LMPs ending with "A" were recorded by Andy Badorek, MM-Team member, author
 of SPIRIT2, TWILAB, DEMONIPA, ZUMA01, TOD, using a DX2/80 (8MB), Logitech
 mouse and unknown liquids. Regarding to his time in map 30 it must've been
 rocket fuel :) .
 LMPs ending with "CO" are coop-mode demos, obviously. Green is Andy, Indigo
 am I, stupidly using keyboard control (I switched to mouse control in march
 '96). All keyboard players out in the world: Believe me, mouse control is
 superior to keyboard control!.
 If you watch the 3 Coop-demos (MM_13_CO, MM_21_CO, MM_30_CO) don't forget to
 use F12 to change the player view! Besides you will notice, that these are a
 bit tenacious (especially map 30). The amount of active monsters is too high
 for our used Doom hardware (see above, + IPX network). :(

 The table below contains information to all LMPs. Listed are: Mapnumber, 
 Mapname, Author, LMP-Name, Personal rating of the map, Duration, Percentage-
 Rating. Additionally there's a short comment to the map. The times given in 
 the table are without the intermission screen.
 Personal Map Rating: :) Great map, perfect, gimme more of that!

         Very small, very easy.

         Nice design but a little bit too empty, 
         very easy.

         Small, very easy, nothing special.

MAP 04 - The Stand - J.Nielsen                     MM_04M  :) 14:27  100-100-100
         Normal size, shotgun festival, FTK-
         training center (Fight the Knight) :)

MAP 05 - Hell's Kitchen - O.Flaharty               MM_05M  :)  9:25  100-100-100
   *     The first real challenge in Memento Mori.
         The ammunition is close, there are lots
         of crossfire situations, many secrets.

MAP 06 - The Powerstation - E.Sargent              MM_06M  :| 14:30  100-100-100
         Easy, watch out the chaingunners, the
         rest is no problem, many goodies.

MAP 07 - Not That Simple - J.Nielsen               MM_07M  :) 16:40  102-93-71
   *     Wow! Archies, Barons and Mancubi in
         smallest areas, lots of secrets, very
         complicated, the first really hard map
         in MM. Good work Jens, sit down. :)

MAP 08 - And The Dead Shall Rise - O.Flaharty      MM_08M  :|  7:19  100-100-100
         Small, normal skill, don't fall into 
         the acid.

MAP 09 - Hightech Grave - T.Moeller                MM_09M  :) 18:59  100-100-100
   *     Harsh beginning, rest normal. Don't move 
         forward after the left red teleport, be 
         careful around the yellow key - hordes of 
         demons can be dangerous.

MAP 10 - The Mansion - A.Bates                     MM_10M  :( 11:37  100-100-100
         Very big rooms which are nearly empty,
         oversized layout, boring, no challenge.

MAP 11 - Halls Of Insanity - E.Reuter              MM_11M  :| 10:15  92-100-0
   *     Hard beginning, easy finish, ammunition 
         close, not all parts accessible.

MAP 12 - Kinetics - "Avatar"                            :( :( :( 
         I wasn't able to solve this crap in skill 4. 
         Oh dear, what a shitty level! Unfair locations, 
         too less ammunition, total dark parts, buggy 
         (you can close yourself out in the square part 
         by stepping backwards after the switch). If 
         anybody has a skill-4-lmp of this map, send it
         to me please.

MAP 13 - The Inmost Dens II - D.Moeller            MM_13M  :) 17:46  100-100-100
   *     Perfect Design, successful tribute to     MM_13_CO
         the original, good for coop-play too,
         the chainsaw room is the critical point
         in this map, the rest no problem.

MAP 14 - Aquaduct - T.Mustaine                     MM_14M  :| 10:26  100-75-100
   *     Survive the beginning, the rest including
         the first Cyborg of Memento Mori is easy. 

MAP 15 - Karmacoma - F.Helmberger                  MM_15M  :| 21:26  101-94-70
         XXL-map, my mouse got blistered feet during
         the recording of the LMP. :) Beside that 
         it's too easy, too many goodies. The secret
         exit is here.

MAP 16 - Stoned - K.Schmid                         MM_16M  :( 23:14  100-98-81
         See map 15, oversized, too much time
         for moving around, normal skill.

MAP 17 - House Of Thorn - E.Sambach                MM_17M  :| 17:11  100-92-85
         Hard, not much room for evasive movements,
         kill those Arch Viles before they make 
         trouble.

Map 18 - A Dead Man's Town - H.Rathje              MM_18M  :| 30:48  101-100-100
   *     Pheew, the second biggest map in MM. The
         first part is no problem, enough goodies
         and ammunition, only some Arch Viles can
         disturb the sunny afternoon. The second 
         town-like part is hard. Watch your health 
         and ammunition and again those Archies!

Map 19 - Maltraiter - M.Rapp                       MM_19M  :) 11:14  100-100-50
   *     Take a breath after map 18. This one is
         small and relative easy.

Map 20 - Mountain Depot - S.Lampert                MM_20M  :( 26:53  98-90-100
         Boring, stupid, oversized. The most time
         you're running across the map, looking
         for switches, health potions, Cyborgs ... ;)

Map 21 - Twilight Lab - Andy Badorek               MM_21A  :) 22:11  100-100-100
   *     Perfect design, grey style, excellent     MM_21_CO
         for coop-play. Get the backpack(s) round
         the corner early, this is crucial for
         success. Just don't die ... :)

Map 22 - The Escape - D.Moeller                    MM_22M  :) 19:18  100-100-100
         Not too big, fair challenge, well done.

Map 23 - Showdown - M.Casali                       MM_23M  :| 24:34  102-100-0
   *     If the air is thick of lead, rockets,
         monsters ... then you're playing map 23
         of MM. Only Schwarzenegger and Stallone
         missing. Watch out the ... oh forget it,
         watch out everything.

Map 24 - Die Hard - D.Casali                       MM_24M  :) 12:46  100-100-100
   *     The first room is hard, the rest no big
         problem if you don't shoot with rockets
         at the wall in front of you ;) . Btw,
         does Bruce Willis play Doom?

Map 25 - Cesspool - W.Sullivan                     MM_25M  :| 15:21  99-80-83
         Very confusing map, I had to use an editor
         to figure out, where those damned shooting
         switches are and what they do. The kill
         rating is purely accidential because of a
         monster teleport at the end.

Map 26 - Between Scattered Corpses - T./D.Moeller  MM_26M  :| 14:24  109-100-100
         Much easier than it looks, too much 
         ammunition to be a challenge.

Map 27 - Fort Hades - S.Lampert                    MM_27M  :) 18:40  105-100-88
   *     Ammunition close, so watch the sequence
         of visiting the different locations. The
         skill is quite fair. Don't give the Archies
         too much room. Fine map.

Map 28 - City Of The Unavenged - J.Nielsen         MM_28A  :| 51:52  120-45-76
         The giant within the MM maps. Big, hard,
         millions of monsters. Survive the first 4
         or 5 Arch viles and things are getting 
         easy. In the last third of the demo the 3
         cybers are shot by the DSG, how else? ;)

Map 29 - Island Of Death - T.Moeller               MM_29M  :( 25:31  70-71-100
         Confusing map, optimized for coop-play,
         normal skill.

Map 30 - Viper - M.Casali                          MM_30A1 :) 2:44  68-22-0
   *     Easy, if you know how. There are two      MM_30A2    1:36  62-44-100
         ways to solve it. The 1st LMP shows the   MM_30_CO
         "traditional" way: enter the building
         through the door and fight the cyberdemon
         with rockets. The 2nd LMP shows the short
         cut / Bfg strategy.

Map 31 - Technology Base - D.Moeller               MM_31M  :| 20:45  65-86-33
         Single players have only access to 60%
         of the map. Activate the crushers in the
         exit room, or you're in trouble. 50 shells
         are not enough for those hundreds of demons.

Map 32 - The Hidden Slime Factory - M.Klem         MM_32M  :) 18:17  100-100-100
   *     Nice map to relax, many goodies, good
         final.
