Title : Star Wars for DOOM2 v1.33 (final release???)
Filename                : STARLVLS.WAD, STARSNDS.WAD, ENEMY.WAD, DOOM1-2.WAD

Author                  : Garrett Granger
Email Address : anakin-lol@geocities.com (you KNOW I'm addicted!)
Misc. Author Info : Freshman in college soon to be going to USC
Web-page : I have a page devoted to Star Wars related material,
			  but mainly created for X-Wing Vs. TIE-Fighter at
			  http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Arcade/5333/

Description : STAR WARS for DOOM2!!! Whoopee!!! This is a totally
                          complete, runnable version for DOOM2 that combines
                          the best of EVERY Star Wars related ".wad" ever
                          made into one, runnable version. As well as combining
                          bits from unaccountable wads, (Matt Falk's 4 levels
                          for DOOM1 are still there, along with splices of
                          SWGFX8, SWMUSFX4, STWARGFX, SW for DOOM2, a Vader
                          hack, a Boba Fett hack, etc., etc., etc...)
                          I have also added *5* new wads: Endor, Hoth, Tatooine,
			  The Emperor's Throne Room and the Grand Hall (at the
			  end of the first movie, where the celebration took
			  place.) All of them are strictly based on a combination
			  of the trilogy, kenner toys and the LucasArts games. I
                          have also added countless little extra items, (Inanimate
                          TIE Interceptors, Snow Speeders, IG-88s, Tiderium class
                          Shuttles, Millenium Falcon, etc.) pictures, and a few
                          extra things, just for show. The latter wads that I
                          created are not only designed for realism, but are
                          also designed to bring some of the most interesting
                          solo and, moreover, multi-player experience.

Versions Supported : DOOM2 ver 1.9. If you want me to make hacks for
                          any other versions, just tell me. Ver 1.666 is no
                          longer supported as the game crashes when run on mine.
                          If you want to try the patch yourself, I've left the
                          .deh file for you 1.666ers

                          Thanks guys, for making this possible.

Note:                   This install uses DeuSF.
			Why that? because it won't affect DOOM.WAD and will
			reduce the mess in your directory.

                        These .wads were created solely to give those other
                        Star Wars fans out there a kick. I've spent a lot of time
                        over the detail in these .wads, so be on the lookout,
                        ***especially*** on the Endor level. They're also the first
			.wads I'm aware of to bring true-3D, imitation effects!
			"What??" you say. You'll understand later.

			If any of you guys have ANY questions or comments, send me an
			e-mail. I don't mind criticism at all (well...), just make sure it
			has a point. I need to hear from you if you want me to change things
			(level layout, items, etc.) Remember, the whole reason I put these
			together was to provide the best Star Wars 3D universe around, as
			close as I could with my vision and DOOM's limits (...and there
                        were a LOT). Help me make this .wad world as perfect as possible.

	Important!:	If you absolutely feel you NEED to cheat, please do not use the "IDKFA"
			or walk-through-walls (no-clipping) cheat. The game was designed in a
			linear order and I guarantee you will miss alot of what you were meant
			to see, through this. If you need weapons, use "IDFA" instead.

			One last thing, on the Endor and Hoth levels, the levels end when
			you cross an invisible line relatively close to the shuttles in each
			level. So if you're playing multi-player with someone, make sure
			neither of you go too near these shuttles, if you don't want
			to end the level.

(First four by Matt Falk)

LEVEL ONE: PRINCESS LEIA'S BLOCKADE RUNNER DECKS 1 & 2

     Your ship has been boarded and captured by Imperial forces. You
     are the only Rebel left who hasn't been killed or taken prisoner.
     It's up to you to set the ship's self destruct system and escape,
     but first you must make your way to the lower decks of the ship.
     The turbolifts will take you between the two decks. I took the
     general layout of the ship from the RPG Rebel Alliance Sourcebook.

LEVEL TWO: PRINCESS LEIA'S BLOCKADE RUNNER DECKS 3 & 4

     You must enter the engine's accessways and activate the blockade
     runner's auto-destruct sequence. Having done this, you must now
     escape the ship before it blows by using one of the escape pods.
     As before, I used the RPG Sourcebook for the general layout of
     these decks

LEVEL THREE: DEATH STAR CHASM AND TECHNICAL STATIONS

     You have to make your way to the turbolifts to reach the detention
     level. The only problem is there are tons of Imperials all about
     you! Included in this level is the chasm Luke and Leia swang
     across, the elevators Luke, Han, and Chewie entered on their way
     to the detention level, as well as the large corridor with the
     blast doors. The blueprints covered 1/6 of the level, so I had to
     make up the rest. I'm sorry I haven't done any new textures for
     the Death Star levels yet, I will be working on them before I
     create any more levels.

LEVEL FOUR: DEATH STAR DETENTION LEVEL AND SECURITY STATION

     You force your way into the detention level, but if things get a
     little too rough, you can escape into the trash compactor. In the
     course of things, you raid a security station (from the RPG).
     I copied some of the sections for deathmatch reasons.

     HINT: follow Leia's technique on getting to the trash compactor

     HINT: there is a secret switch that reveals the switch to open the
           compactor door

LEVEL FIVE: MOS EISLEY/TATOOINE

      "Where are AM I?" you ask yourself. That damn astromech droid took off
      again and now you're lost in the middle of the Dune Sea. Suddenly, you
      sight a glimpse of metal in the canyon up ahead. Could that be your
      little friend, or is it some Sand Person brandishing his gaffi stick
      in wait? After you find Artoo, check out the Mos Eisely Cantina and
      have a drink with Han, while you again attempt to evade the heavy
      Imperial presence here and sneak aboard the Millenium Falcon.

LEVEL SIX: ESCAPE FROM HOTH

     This level takes place during the Imperial's uncoverance of the once
     secret Rebel base and it's subsequent attack. Your objective is to
     slow the invasion by killing as many Snow Troopers as possible and
     then escape the planet with whatever ship that's left available. Be
     careful. The planetary bombardment has weakened some of the base's
     supports and there may be fractured ceilings.

LEVEL SEVEN: BATTLE OF ENDOR

     You find yourself in the covert operation on Endor to take out the
     Second Death Star's shield generator. You arrive just outside the back
     entrance to the facility, but be careful. There's a legion of
     Storm Troopers out there with 6 Biker Scouts guarding the facility, ready
     to call for reinforcements and the nearby AT-ST. Be aware, you might also
     run into a few new surprises on this level and a couple of interesting
     things from the movie.

LEVEL EIGHT: EMPEROR'S THRONE ROOM

     Darth Vader stands before you, with the Emperor right behind him. Can you
     conquer him with only your lightsaber and the power of the Force behind
     you?

LEVEL NINE: THE GRAND HALL

     You have triumphed over the Empire! It's time to go back to the newly
     relinquished Coruscant and celebrate!

* Additional Files You May Want *

The "Aliens" conversion is probably the most exciting .wad for DOOM1 I have
ever played besides Star Wars. Don't let the, first level fool you, it's
just for multiplayer.

Also, the T2 sound effects rock! Set at the perfect amplitude with ideal replacements,
these sounds really revive DOOM 1 or 2 while giving it an even better atmosphere.

* Construction *

Base: Started 3 years ago, and took it up again a few months ago. I finally
      finished version 1.0 on July 24, 1997.

The following enemies and weapons have been converted:

			ENEMIES:
			-----------------------------------------------
			- Troopers -> Imperial Biker Scouts
			- Sargents       -> Imperial Stormtroopers
			- Imps           -> Stormtrooper lieutenants

			- Demons         -> Gamorrean Guards
			- Lost Souls -> interrogation droids
			- Cacodemons     -> probe droids
			- Barons of Hell -> Emperor's Royal Guards
			- Cyberdemons    -> AT-ST scout walkers
			- Mancubus       -> Snow Trooper
			- Arachnotron    -> Dark Trooper-phase 1
			- Pain Elemental -> Dark Trooper-phase 2 (flying)

                        - SSNazis        -> Jawas

			- Shotgun        -> blaster carbine
			- Chaingun       -> repeater rifle
			- Plasma gun -> super plasma cannon
			- Rockets -> laser bolts (changed to red)
			- Barrels        -> R2D2s

	There are also innumerable other replacements that aren't mentioned here, because of
	the sheer number of them and the fact that I wanted you to be surprised.

Known Bugs : ".Exe" Patch for version 1.666 does not work. You will
                          have to upgrade to version 1.9 of DOOM2 to play these
                          .WADS.

			  DO NOT SAVEGAME IN LEVELS 2 & 4! The large
                          number of vertices, objects, etc. overruns
                          the savegame buffer.

                          Slight HOM when you start out on the Endor level.
                          (Sorry, it was unavoidable.)

                          Shuttle's top fin overlaps bottom portion (you'll see
                          what I mean.)

                          This is not a bug, but a few buttons will need to be
                          pressed twice to be fully "pushed." This is because
                          they are doing a separate thing each time you press
                          them.

                          Do not try and open the door in level 7 while it's
                          closing. This will cause it to become permanently
                          stuck until you restart that level.

                          If you find any others, please let me know.

* Copyright / Permissions *

Authors MAY use these levels as a base to build additional
levels. (Exceptions are the first 4, which are Matt Falk's
email: mattfalk@eri.erinet.com)

You MAY distribute this WAD, provided you include this file, with
no modifications. You may distribute this file in any electronic
format (BBS, Diskette, CD, etc) as long as you include this file
intact.

* Where to get these WADs *

FTP sites:   ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/idgames/themes/starwars/

HTTP sites:  http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Arcade/5333/

* How to use these WADs *

1. You must have registered version 1.666 or 1.9 of DOOM2 and have
approximately 11MBs of Hard Drive space to run them.
2. Unzip the .wads into your DOOM2 directory and type or click install.
(Don't worry, it cleans itself all up into its nice own directory.)
Type or click "starwars.bat" or run the menu again for future play.

* Additional Multiplayer information *

To play these WADs over modem, I have included three useful batch files
to allow easy playability: "dial.bat", "answer.bat" and "swmodem.bat"
Unfortunately, you will have to tailor each to your own individual computer
specs, and know a thing or two about running the game from the command line,
instead of just through the setup program.

First modify the dial file to include your friend's number. Have him type:
"sersetup -answer" since, obviously, only one of you has to dial. You can
also have him just run "answer.bat" Assuming the modem info is the same
(if not, you will have to change it), dial his number.

Now that you're connected, both of you need to run the "swmodem.bat" file.
If you don't know what the options do in the file to modify them, then
check out the readme file, like I did. That should be it! Good luck!

If you want to try this using an IPX network, you will more or less have to
use Death Manager "DM.EXE" shipped with v1.666 and above. I have found the
wads have to be launched in a specific order which is as follows:

STARLVLS.WAD
ENEMY.WAD
STARSNDS.WAD
DOOM1-2.WAD

...or you can simply copy the included "DM.CFG" file to your DOOM2 directory.
