Chapter 1. Antecedents
===========================================================================

DCF3, is a program that serves for interface to powerful tools that
exist in Internet, and that they allow a true variety of options. It is
to say that the user now will have the possibility to take a complete
' control ' about the information of the game that he wants to modify or
to alter.

DCF3 is an utilitarian program with a range of functions (some not so
well-known) that are of a lot of utility, and that they will allow to combine diverse
approaches, to order your files, to look for them easily, to execute them, to modify them,
to add additional information to the same ones, among other characteristics that
you will get familiarizing with the continuous use of the program.

Inside the characteristics of the program the following ones can be mentioned:

1* DCF3 now allows to install the program in any hard disk unit or logic net
   unit (this is very useful for net games).
2* DCF3 allows also to install the program in any directory, giving this way
   the facility to the user to personalize the location of the program.
3* Improvement of the WAD Builder program, the same that allows now to enter
   'additional parameters' to personalize the compilation of levels.
4* New revision of the code of the iWAD Merger program, the same that allows
   now to combine/restore any file of type: DOOM, DOOM2, HERETIC or HEXEN.
5* The users can update the executable files that manages DCF3. Don't forget
   to rename these files, in case their names have change.
6* Automatic depuration of the Report file (Historic.Dcf). It means,
   that DCF3 cleans several times this file.
7* No more HISTORIC.BAK file. Now DCF3 uses a single principal report
   file, in which all the information is resumed.
8* DCF3 possess Open Architecture now. It is this way, this version
   allows the entrance of ' additional parameters ' on the part of the user.
9* New tool iWAD Merger that allows to add an additional bookstore
   to the main bookstore of the Game (DOOM.WAD or DOOM2.WAD).
10*New tool ADD Commands that allows to generate a list of additional
   commands to the Program.
11*Modification of the interface of the WAD Creator and Multiplayer
   Programs; needing to be pressed the < F10 > key to begin the program.
12.A new tool of DCF3, EXE Editor allows to modify the ' executable ' of the
   game, also allowing the generation of ' Patches '.
13.The WAD Loader option of DCF3, has been completely restructured,
   having new options and parameters.
14.The new MULTIPLAYER option that allows to carry out a ' Serial ' game,
   allowing with this to connect two computers, in a very simple way.
15.The exit option of the program has been ' personalized ' being
   now, with a more convenient interface.
16.Internal Corrections, and new improvements for DCF3. Pursuit of the
   programs and correction of the possible flaws.
17.A varied range of Tools that toguether makes of DCF3, a program quite
   useful, compact and unpublished.
18.Possibility to have a Files Agent in the programs that allows to revise
   the content with respect to files of direct use for DCF3.
19.Possibility to have several Function Keys in the programs, to speed up
   the use of the program, and to make more flexible the environment of DCF3.
20.DCF3 is quite simple of using, and its operation has been subject to
   a good quantity of tests, trying to offer you a good program, free of
   errors and interactive in its utility.
21.DCF3, won't produce fatal errors and is proven that its use is
   guaranteed, if you enter the details and information correctly according
   to what is indicated in each help manual.
22.DCF3, won't Eliminate or Modified none of the files of the game; already
   there are no sentences in its structure that allow to erase or to rename
   the content of a File.
   This only could happen if you make it deliberately!

#* = New resource of the program.

 I have the pleasure of communicate the users of DCF3, that the current
version presents a general correction around the lauds of the program.
At the same time the historic file (HISTORIC.Dcf) that generates automatically
at the end of each session of DCF3, have been totally reestructured, having
now as a form of report the most important details about the last work session.
The last compilation in this case dates of December 2000. In the last proves
0% process errors were obtained

===========================================================================
Chapter 2. Installation
===========================================================================

DCF3, can be installed directly with all its components to the Hard Disk C.
For this, the directory DCFDOS can be created that will be, the one that will
contain all the necessary files.
Also you can execute the enclosed installation program, or simply create a
directory by the way detailed below.

Example: (all these instructions are entered in the DOS prompt or by
	  the Administrator Program in Windows)
First Step - Drive C: press < (ENTER)
Second Step  - Root Directory: Cd\ <
Third Step - Create the directory: Md DCFDOS <
Fourth Step - Enter the directory: Cd DCFDOS <
Fifth Step - Copy the content of the disk: Copy A:DCF3ZIP.Exe
	       notices: if the file is DCF3ZIP.Exe you will need only to copy it
	       and then to execute it in your hard disk, typing DCF3ZIP <
	       Otherwise if the file is DCF3.Zip (or DCFv30.Zip) copy it to your
	       hard disk and then unwrap its content (using PKunzip
	       - in DOS or WinZip - in Windows).
Sixth Step   - Execute DCF3.Exe <
Seventh Step - You should modify the present configuration at the moment of
	       the DCF3 lauds, for an in agreement configuration with the name
	       location of the files of the game in your hard disk.
	       After having executed the first test with DCF3 this new
	       configuration, will be automatically recorded and modernized in the
	       beginning file.

Chapter 3. Requirements of the System
===========================================================================

As minimum requirements of the system, the following ones can be mentioned:

1. PC 486 with a minimum of 100 Mhz. of Prosecution.
2. To have a minimum of 16 Mb of RAM.
3. Video Card with Memory of 1 Mb. (as minimum) and if it counts with
   Accelerating Graphics Card in 3d is much better.
4. Sound Blaster Sound Card or another that is 100 compatible%. The
   sound card should have a minimum of 8 bits.
5. Hard Disk Space, as minimum of 2 Mb. to install the application
   without space problems.
6. To have disabled the DOS SHARE command, is very advisable.
   (it produces incongruities in the it uses of the databases).
7. To have disabled the DOS LASTDRIVE command, is also advisable.
   (it produce problems with the executable name in certain ocasions?).

All these requirements are minimum and they are obvious since at the present,
there are Computers that go very above these characteristics.
This means that the installation of DCF3 and its later application,
don't have limits, in what to Hardware requirements and of components it
refers.

Chapter 5. The Author's Projects
===========================================================================

In fact, several projects are that I have in mind, however the time
and other occupations are the worst enemy of this. But well,
that there are new projects there are them.

Perhaps I will return to the design of levels (I will see this, because levels
design takes a lot of time), and the implementation of other WADs and
applications if it is possible.

Of course, in relationship with DCF3, I will think about new forms of
making it better, I will try to optimize the data entrance (if it is possible),
and also the development of these tools in Visual environments since by
the moment they are in DOS versions.

Obviously the development of this same version would be considered for the
Windows environment; that is to say that we would be talking of DCFWIN v.1.0 for
Windows '95 or '98 :)

===========================================================================
Chapter 6. Gratefulness
===========================================================================

My gratefulness, to all the people interested in applying this new tool.

DCF3, is a 100% Peruvian product that consists in the author's effort
to gather the best existent tools in Internet, to make one
"Miscellany of Utilities to offer the user's good development
applying all the concepts that are at your disposal with DCF3.

Any consultation can make it directly to my Electronic Mail that
I will gladly respond at the moment to receive.

===========================================================================
A final note from the author:
The original files of this utility are in Spanish, so maybe the users will
find sometimes some strange or rare words. You should figure out, that I
have used a translator (Translator Pro and Word '97). If you wish to look
at these files (or if you know Spanish), you can unzip the file: Spanish.Zip,
that is included here, which will contain the original files with an extension
like *.tx_ and *.hl_
You can also use a better translator to have them more understandable, because
these files are all in .TXT format. I give a brief and quick check to all the
manuals, but in case... there you have the original file for any purpose.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Please before using your DCF utility, please give a check at the file:
'DCFTools.Txt' included in the DCFv30.Zip file.
Here you will find the 'required' tools you will need to add to DCF for a
good and appropiate use of this program. Your 'New' Tool.
Depending on demmand I will be making a complete 'English' version :) So pay
attention users all around there!... Email me and let me know if the program
is useful for you... The Author.
